Bechtel and Nautilus Data Technologies are working together to construct data centres that use up to 70% less power for cooling and eliminate the consumption of drinking water. The building of data centres is a major trend in construction. The global market for data centre construction in 2020 was estimated to be worth US$21 billion and projected to reach US$33 billion by 2027 according to the report, Data Centre Construction – Global Market Trajectory and Analysis.

Nautilus’ Total Resource Usage Effectiveness (TRUE) technology, is a patented closed-loop water cooling system that uses naturally cold water to keep server racks cool. Its cooling methods use 70% less power than traditional computer room air-conditioning uses for cooling, leading to a 30% net reduction in energy-related CO2 and air pollution.
The system uses naturally cold water from rivers, lakes or bays and returns all of it to its source after use.
